I've been reflecting recently on how our sense of time seems to feel a bit warped at the moment. Familiar activities and routines help to anchor us in time and as a community, but even though those routines have been stripped back in lockdown, many of us are still feeling a sense of weariness. It could be do do with changes and challenges we are navigating as part of the pandemic, or the events of the news, or simply the longing to come out of the other side of this season! Today's morning prayer Psalm 29 talks inspiringly about the enlivening power of the Voice of God in the world. Worth a read. I was especially touched by the last verse and the prayer refrain.
Verse 11 reads: The Lord shall give strength to his people; the Lord shall give his people the blessing of peace.
And the refrain prayer is
Open our ears, glorious Lord Christ,
to hear the music of your voice
above the chaos of this world;
open our eyes to see the vision of your glory,
for you are our King, now and for ever.
How encouraging to be reassured that God still speaks and reveals his glory! I pray that prayer of refrain for each of us; that we may hear God's voice and know his strength and the deep blessing of his peace. Every blessing, Janey _______________ Rev. Janey Hiller
