Much has happened since last Sunday....

Updated: Jan 30, 2021

Greetings and Blessings All Saints and St Marys

It has been a week of such change yet again that I was struck by the phrasing “The week that was....” – and how this might be one of those such weeks. Much has happened since last Sunday.

Although Communal worship is still permissible by law PCC’s across both churches made the

decision to pause for a little while given the rising Covid numbers and take stock so we can re check our own local risk assessments. I have attached here the letter I sent to PCC's (with Churchwarden blessing) outlining the suggested way forward for the next three weeks.

In short – we have decided to close the churches for the interim to do the necessary Risk Assessments and checks. We will aim to open for Private Prayer in the week commencing the 11th Jan and we will hold online worship on the next three Sundays. (10th, 17th and 24th January). In three weeks, depending on different factors, we will reassess. We will remain available and open for any funerals that are needed in the churches. In the meantime a live broadcast of worship on Sunday – with prayers, readings and sermon will be given each week at 10am. Look out for various updates, vlogs and different spiritual reflections and prayers on the websites. You can follow the link to the Youtube page and it will take you to the service here http://youtu.be/VFt0EpF7uZM 10th January – LIVE BROADCAST – 10am – ALL SAINTS CHURCH – WEBSITE, ALL SAINTS FACEBOOK PAGE, ST MARYS FACEBOOK PAGE and YouTube Please find attached

Morning Worship Service to follow during Live Broadcast

We will have a coffee and chat – but I have moved this forward slightly to 11.30am. The details for this are below. Join Zoom Meeting https://zoom.us/j/99962378407?pwd=amw1WjZ5b2pvTGRQaTl3NnhvQ3Jqdz09 Meeting ID: 999 6237 8407 Passcode: 262958 I am often struck by how despite the struggles of the world God shows up. I was feeling, like I am sure many were, slightly frazzled by yesterday morning. SO I opened my Daily Prayer App to try and get a grip on the day. When ever I try and get a grip on the day God choses another path! As I scrolled through the prayer and readings – I was met with the scripture from the letter of John. Most of the time we read from John’s gospel – but in the New Testament there are three letters also from John. They are really short and really interesting – Yesterdays God showing up was when this scripture was the set reading – 1 John 4:7 – end “Beloved, let us love one another because Love is from God;

everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.” God is love. We know God because we are people who love. May you know that love of God this day and into this next week – what ever it may bring. Revd Lizzie Revd Lizzie Kesteven 0117 9650856 07973917720
