Gearing Up or Winding Down as we Welcome September

Updated: Oct 2, 2021

Dear All Saints and St Marys – Blessings. September often brings with it a sense of the “new”. A new start for so many as schools go back after the long summer holidays. Even for people out of the current school system at the moment there can still be a sense of September being the month of new pencil and paper purchasing – but that might just be a good excuse for the stationary lovers amongst you. “New” things can bring both a sense of excitement and yet also a feeling of trepidation – What does this new thing look like? Will I like it? How do I get ready for it? On the other hand September for many it can also be for many a time to wind down and get away, a perfect opportunity as the beaches and busy spots become quieter to take some time out and enjoy a bit of peace that a change of scene or a change of pace can bring. And that in itself can feel “new” even if it is also familiar and welcome. So whether you are back with your foot on the pedal in something new, a new term, a new school year, a new job, or just back from a break. Or if you are just starting to wind down for some away time then I hope that this finds message finds you and blesses you. We have as our services this weekend THIS WEEKEND - Sunday 1st August Fourteenth Sunday after Trinity 10.30am Celebration Holy Communion at All Saints - with Revd Lizzie preaching and celebrating. There will be Junior Church at this service and so a chance for children to be taught and nurtured and parents to stay in church. 6.30pm Evensong at St Mary’s - with Revd Janey leading and Mark Simms preaching preaching.
